Absentee Homeowners Service (AHS) is one of Mammoth’s oldest ongoing businesses, providing a full range of property management services to both second homeowners and condominium homeowner associations in the town of Mammoth Lakes. We understand the constraints of distance and time in caring for a second home and strive to help you fully enjoy your investment and vacation time by offering a full range of services to care for your property. Our commitment to the highest level of customer service comes through in our every interaction with our clients. Our breadth of experience in the severe climate of the Eastern Sierra’s high country guides our service and has been responsible for saving our clients thousands of dollars in damages by recognizing potential problems before they become full blown emergencies. We are located in the town of Mammoth Lakes, so we’re never far away when you need us and we are a dedicated, full time, property management company, so our sole focus is on the care of your home.

After founding and running AHS for 13 years, Eugene Bernhard retired and sold the business to Greg and Terri Eckert in 1984. AHS then passed to Jeff and Drea Perry in 2004. As the years have gone by, each owner has strived to add and improve upon the services offered by the previous owners. The result is Mammoth’s premier homeowners service.

The Perrys
The PerrysAfter having been raised in Lake Tahoe, Nevada and completing her education at Brown University, Andrea (Drea for short) went on to lead tour groups in the jungles of Ecuador and was a top international guide for the active travel company Backroads. Drea is currently running a thriving professional wedding and portrait photography business (www.dreaphoto.com) and is fluent in German and Spanish. She also assists with the day-to-day operations of AHS and when Jeff is out of the office she is often answering phones and helping with behind-the-scenes coordination.

Jeff was raised in a number of ski towns, with most of that time spent as a youth in Mammoth Lakes, having first moved to the town in 1976. Following the successful completion of his Master of Arts degree in Communication at Chico State University, Jeff worked for several years with the technology consulting firm Accenture in San Francisco, where he greatly enjoyed the high speed, intense environment, but longed for fresh air. To this day, Jeff continues to be an avid skier (both nordic and alpine) and outdoor enthusiast who goes home to geek out on the latest computer technology. Jeff loves any opportunity he has to give his clients weather and snow reports, let them in on new hiking trails or share thoughts about a favorite restaurant in town.

Following their marriage in 2001, both Drea and Jeff, looking to raise their children in the same surroundings they had enjoyed as kids, moved (returned) to Mammoth Lakes. Jeff began working for AHS, where he was mentored by Greg Eckert (Jeff’s step brother) and Jeff applied his corporate acumen to quickly learning the art of property management from first hand experience. In 2004, Drea and Jeff purchased Absentee Homeowners Service. They own their home in Mammoth, have two wonderful children – Wade and Lucy – and look forward to many more years in Mammoth, raising their family, enjoying all the wonderful activities of the region and growing successful businesses.
